Pivoting to Prosperity in Mobile Home Investing
What prompted such a significant shift? Rachel shares that her experience as a landlord left her feeling burnt out, a sentiment many landlords can relate to. She found herself at the bottom of the financial totem pole, with everyone else getting paid before her: mortgage companies, homeowners associations, insurance companies, contractors, and even property managers. The financial strain was particularly noticeable during vacancies, a common challenge in the real estate industry.
Seeking a change, Rachel discovered Lonnie Scruggs, often referred to as the godfather of mobile home investing. Scruggs’ course, which later became the book “Deals on Wheels,” introduced her to the concept of buying and selling mobile homes using owner financing. This approach resonated with her, highlighting a path where she could invest without the burden of mortgages, allowing her to collect all the cash flow directly.
Rachel’s transition to mobile home investing in 2007 marked the beginning of a lucrative phase of her career. As of 2024, she has a mobile home investing business generating five-figure monthly revenues. Her story is not just about the financial gains but also about the search for a sustainable and less stressful investment model. Rachel Hernandez’s journey from traditional real estate to mobile home investing illustrates a profound shift in mindset and strategy, emphasising the importance of finding the right niche that aligns with one’s goals and lifestyle.
